Complete issue of Frank Leslie’s Illustrated, September 10, 1864, 16pp., disbound, VG. From the front cover, a 1/2 page engraving with caption, “The War in Louisiana - Scene from Tarleton’s Plantation, Bayou Teche ...” The scene illustrated depicts 16-18 Blacks circling two dancing, young Black boys. A fiddler on a stump provides the rhythm, military tents and a paddlewheel ship in the background. Several interior war scene engravings including Union prisoners being exchanged in Texas.
