An interesting ca. 1920's cotton ball seed souvenir in printed lithograph box. The rear printed side panel reads, in part: "A Souvenir. Ball of Natural Cotton Fresh from the Fields of DIXIE LAND, Dallas, Texas. Frey Wholesale Post Card, Co…". The three opposite panels are labeled: "Darkies picking cotton in Dixieland." and show the period stereotypical scenes of blacks picking cotton in endless fields of cotton. The panel on the bottom of the box then gives advise on growing the enclosed cotton seed in "a Northern Climate." The original cotton seed is included in this well-worn, but complete box. Overall VG.
