H (Page Grays), 33rd Virginia Infantry [POW Spotsylvania May 12, 1864], "Camp Winder, Caroline Co., Va., Feb. 3, 1863", in part: "…we have 24 of our boys in the guard house now…there is right smart talk about peace now…the blockade has been opened in South Carolina…our men captured 2 and sunked two iron clad vessels…roads have been so bad that it would be impossible for troops to travel now…".
