A good collection of three war-date Union soldier's letters, totaling over 7pp. 8vo., written by Pvt. Edwin R. Wyeth, Co. F, 14th Indiana Vols., from September 1862 to September 1863 with content including, in part: "[Post Hospital Fort Ellsworth, Va., Sept. 1, 1862]…I came to the convalescent Camp not being able to travel…I was detailed as Provost Guard…they have a full Regt of broken down men that they allow to keep as Provost Guards and send the new Regts into the field. We are in sight of Washington City. It looks pretty I tell you…[Camp near Falmouth, Va., Mar. 7, 63]…we have a great deal of heavy duty to do…I left the hoosier state and become a Virjinion…[Center Street Hospital, Newark, N. J.,Sept. 30, 63]…the Regt…are all going to enlist for three years longer. They got [?] dollars bounty…they are to be put in the cavalry…". Also included are two letters written by Edwin's brother Allen W. Wyeth from 1862 and early 1863 with some good content. Allen was a private in Edwin's company and is listed as having died in April 1863. One original stamped transmittal cover is included from Edwin's letters while there are two original stamped transmittal covers with Allen's letters. More, else overall VG. (5 letters total.)
