A finely printed war-date Union patriotic card, measuring approximately 2 1/4" x 3 1/4", on white glazed card stock, entitled: "Why Don't You Take [It.]" A side of prime beef is used as bait by a large bull dog shown as Union General Winfield Scott who taunts Jeff Davis' character with the aforesaid request. Scott's success through money, supply and the backing of a well-established government cannot be lost to the viewer while Jeff Davis' plan looks bleak with only cotton and a palmetto tree for cover if stealing the food fails. Again well-worn and obviously carried by a card carrying Union sympathizer! VG
