A complete and authentic issue of the Harper’s Weekly, March 1, 1862 16pp., disbound, VG. From the front cover, a full page engraving of the Confederates waving the white flag of surrender, “The Surrender of Fort Donelson February 16, 1862,” with complete reporting inside. Also from the interior is a full page engraving of three scenes, “The Capture of Fort Henry,” also with full report. The back cover has four political cartoons using excerpts of an appeal made by CSA General Joe Johnston to the troops. One shows a slave chained to the wall; another shows a slve hung on a balance.
