CDV Photograph, “Officers 10th U.S.C. Artillery,” with backmark A.D. Little, Main Street, Baton Rouge. The photo and the mount have been trimmed, the image clear but dark. This scarce image shows 46 head shots of the white officers presented in a collage. We were able to find only one other example of this scarce CDV, that being in the collection of the US Army War College. Organized from 1st Corps de Afrique Heavy Artillery. Designated 7th Regiment Heavy Artillery April 4, 1864, and 10th Regiment Heavy Artillery May 21, 1864. Attached to Defenses of New Orleans, La., Dept. of the Gulf, to October, 1864. 1st Brigade, 3rd Division, United States Colored Troops, Dept. of the Gulf, to November, 1864. Defenses of New Orleans, La., to February, 1867. Although the image shows 46 officers, the 10th actually had over 50 officers. They were W.F. Ackerman, Charles A. Bailey, H.P. Beach, H.K. Bicker, George Boldham, Justin E. Brown, Nathaniel Burbank, L. Crooker, W.H. Currie, Henry Curzon, Charles S. Deering, George L. Faxon, J.B. Ferguson, Jesse Fettis, W.F. Flint, John G.
