Manuscript document signed by Lucas (and 37 others), one page, quarto, Pike County, Ohio, May 4, 1836, a petition to the Court of Common Pleas that, to put it bluntly, wants the Court to allow a liquor store in Piketon. Robert Lucas served in the War of 1812, was Ohio's chief executive, 1832-1836, and was appointed Governor of Iowa by President Van Buren in 1838. Creases, light stains, else very good condition.
