A very rare war-date six panel foldout booklet depicting a panoramic view of Washington D. C., measuring approximately 38" when fully opened, and entitled: "PANORAMA OF WASHINGTON, ALEXANDRIA AND GEORGETOWN", copyright 1862, by Jewish printer L. N. Rosenthal, Philadelphia. The covers of the book depicts two armed zouaves who sit at the base of George Washington's monument with a patriotic theme that, reads: "WASHINGTON First in War, First in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen". Tinted in color are the Capitol building, National Gallery, and Penn. Avenue Bridge with many other sites of the Nation's capitol shown. This booklet is considered very rare as it has been nearly ten years since we have had the pleasure of selling the last in the marketplace. Overall very good to near fine.
