Early Reverse Painting on Glass of George Washington after the Gilbert Stuart, 20” x 25” presented in a larger period wood and plaster frame. The item retains 95% of its original paint which is brillant. Some areas can be “touched” in the forehead and the ascot. The original board backs the frame which has several areas which have lost the plaster fill. Although it is undated, likely 1832, VG.
