An Uncolored Engraving, “WASHINGTON,” 17” x 26,” (sight) in modern sealed frame. Very clean. this was engraved by Thomas Kelly after the Gilbert Stuart painting “General Washington at Dorchester Heights.” Printed in Boston by W.V. Coles, 1836. The legend is light, the engraving shows strong contrast. In the background, the British Fleet is shown in Boston Harbor. Washington set up the fortification of Dorchester Heights overlooking the city with the heavy guns aimed at the British fleet anchored below. On March 26, 1776, British fleet left Boston.
