Neatly penned 4 page (each sheet blank on reverse) letter entirely in the hand of, and fully signed by JASON BROWN to his father's biographer J. B. Sanborn. From York Penna. Feb. 23, 1891. Writes of a "Mr. Hector lecturing…liked him and the cause for which he is laboring. The Temperance cause and the betterment of the condition of the African and Indian races in the U.S…[received] letter from him asking if I would accompany him on a lecturing tour of Mass, NY, PA and Tenn…told him I could not speak but thought I might be able to sell enough of your books to make it more profitable then working by the day in Calif…" and more about Sanborn's books about old J.B. that he had been selling for him; has been selling much land so he can be "free from debt…" Exc. normal aging.
