Unique original broadside printed in Ohio circa 1850's. Bold headlines "UNION WITH FREEMEN…NO UNION WITH SLAVEHOLDERS. …ANTI-SLAVERY MEETINGS !" (in letters up to 2½ inches). Announces that "THREE MILLIONS OF YOUR FELLOW BEINGS ARE IN CHAINS. THE CHURCH AND GOVERNMENT SUSTAINS THE HORRIBLE SYSTEM OF OPPRESSION. TURN OUT ! AND LEARN YOUR DUTY TO YOURSELVES, THE SLAVE AND GOD…EMANCIPATION OR DISSOLUTION AND A FREE NORTHERN REPUBLIC !" Empty spaces are left in the center for the place and date of "the anti-slavery meetings to be held" and the name of the speaker who was to address the crowd, being "AGENTS OF THE WESTERN ANTI-SLAVERY SOCIETY." 11 x 16; blank reverse.
