Broadside, 14”x11-1/2”, September 17, 1856, printed at the Berryville Gazette Office, and reads in full “$200 REWARD!/ Ranaway from the Subscriber living near Orlean, Fauguier County, Va., on Saturday night last, two Negro Men, named DANIEL and CHARLES, Daniel is a Mulatto, about 23 years old, and weighs 185 pounds. Charles is a bright Mulatto, about 19 years old, with a scar on his upper lip./These Negroes left in company with eight others belonging respectiviely to James K. Marshall, Dr. Stribling and Mrs. Marshall, of the same neighborhood. I will give the above reward for my two men Daniel and Charles as described above, if taken and secured so that I get them again...” Some foxing and wear at margins and folds, else VG.
