Auner, of Philadelphia, and reads in small part: “...They have felt the Southron’s insults, they have borne his bitter taunts/They have listened without answer to his weak and childish vaunts;/Till the Nation’s flag was trampled on, they patiently forebore/But now they strike for Freedom - and the slain at Baltimore!”...plus; “The Other Side of Jordan” in negro dialect, published by Thomas Scroggy of Philadelphia, in part “Oh, de Presidenshal ‘lection, we know has taken place,/De generals and all der armor gird on,/But, oh golly, how I laff to see de candidates all race/For de White House de odder side ob Jordan...”. ...plus; “On De ODer Side of Jordon” by same printer as previous though with different ornamental border and lyrics, in part: “Oh! down South when de brack folk die,/ De friends dey all go in mornin,/For fear dar old massas will whack em on de head/When dey got on de oder side ob Jordon”.
