Currier & Ives Lithograph: "Freedom to the Slaves," NY, Very Fine. Uncolored lithograph, 13.75" x 10," number "878" featuring a slave family giving thanks to Abraham Lincoln, while broken chains and shackles lie on the ground. Caption reads: "...Proclaimed January 1st 1863, by ABRAHAM LINCOLN, President of the United States..." This popular image has even toning with some trivial stains along right margin and slightly clipped along the bottom edge.
