Handy, corporal in company K of the 9th United States Colored Troops, who enlisted November 26, 1863 and was mustered out November 26, 1866 at New Orleans, Louisiana. Includes a $50 receipt for bounty due Handy “under act of General Assembly of Maryland 1864”...plus; 1p. folio “State of Maryland Bounty”, 1866 signed by Handy with his mark, detailing his service, witnessed by two officers of the 9th....plus; 1p. quarto, discharge, 1866, being a copy of his original discharge, it lists Handy as 5’ 6”, mulatto, 21 years old, a farmer by occupation. All VG and attachedat top left corner. (3 items)
