The Poor Old Slave by G. W. H. Griffin (Boston: George P. Reed, 1851), 5pp., large folio, 10" x 13 1/4", the lyrics are written in dialect as would become the norm for such material during the 19th century, reading, in part: "the poor old slave has gone to rest, We know that he is free…now he's dead and in his grave, No master does he fear…" Light foxing, very good condition.
