Partially printed document, 2pp., 8 ½" x 13 ¾, Rose Hill, Jasper County, Mississippi, filed September 3, 1917 on behalf of Warren Ryan, 83 year old "indigent" veteran, who had been a body servant in the 14th Mississippi Infantry from 1861 - 1865. One of the many questions Ryan answered was as to his whereabouts at war's end. He responded, "at home. My master was in prison." Ryan's fidelity paid off and he was awarded a pension. Quite scarce, and in very good condition.
