This composite doll is very authentic to early 1900 in its appearance. Hand painted head, face, hands, and boots are nicely accomplished. The gingham shirt, overall dress and pants do show some age. She is stuffed with dense material which provides enough weight that she can sit up. Her little finger on the right hand is broken off. On the nap of the neck is an incised copyright logo below the id “MB7.” And below that, hand numberd “208 / 500” in marker. We are unable to identify the maker nor the date, but all clues lead to mid 1900’s.
