Manuscript document signed "E. Kirby Smith, Lt. Col. C. S. Army," one page with docketing, oblong 8vo, Lynchburg, Virginia, May 13, 1861, noting receipt of 60,000 "Ball Cartridges" and 100,000 "Percussion Caps." Smith would, of course, become a full Confederate general in time and would surrender the last major Confederate force in the field on May 26, 1865. Fine condition.
