War-date manuscript document by Lt. H. M. Thompson, Yazoo Rangers, one page, oblong 8vo, noted in margin as "triplicate," reading, "By order of Gen'l M. D. Smith, I hereby certify that on the 29 day of June 1862, I burnt 10 bales of cotton weighing 450 lbs average quality- middling owned by William Flowers of Yazoo County and state of Mississippi," dated July 15, 1862 and witnessed by Justice of the Peace M. A. Jenkins. Very good condition.
