Book, PHILOSOPHY AND OPINIONS OF MARCUS GARVEY, 102 pages, octavo, 1923, published by the Universal Negro Improvement Association, New York City. Jamaica-born Marcus Garvey (1887-1940) was the foremost Black Nationalist of the early 20th century. He advocated Black economic independence, a united Africa, and was the founder of the Universal Negro improvement Association. This volume opens with Garvey's "Appeal to the Soul of White America", which is followed by his take on Blacks and their role in the world. The title page has moderate paper loss in one corner that does not intrude upon the type. Some chipping on divider pages and wear to cover. Overall Good condition.
