Frank P Blair is written on a 5" x 4 ¾" piece of paper, likely as an autograph. Though born in Lexington, Kentucky of Virginia lineage, Blair was a Republican congressman from Missouri and a fierce Unionist when the Civil War started. Having worked tirelessly to keep Missouri in the Union, Blair resigned from office and embarked on a military path. He eventually became a Union major-general and commander of the XVII Corps. Fine condition.
