A good war-date Union soldier's letter, 1p. 8vo., written by Sergeant Charles N. W. Cunningham, Co. A, 13th Massachusetts Vols., "In camp at Rappahannock Station, Va., Aug. 15, 1863", in part: "…[Patrick] Fitzgerald [19th Mass.] was in the fight at Gettysburg and was I have since learned taken prisoner with eight others of his company. They have-I understand- gone to Richmond and are doing well…". Minor damp stains, else VG.
