Autograph Letter Signed, “M.E. Robertson”, 3-1/2p. octavo, on 1st National letterhead, with cover addressed to the wife of Georgia General William Robertson Boggs (1829-1911), the letter reads in part: “...Since you left I thought of the probability of your not obtaining a servant to suit, & perhaps might take any one rather than not have one at all, so I concluded to write & say should you not be suited I would prefer letting you have Frances, until you could get a good one then have you hire one...whose character you were not sure of...Dr. Robertson says if you have the prospect of buing one, in a few weeks, you had better take Frances, than hire one in Augusta, unless you are perfectly satisfied with her. I dreamnt last night that Mr. Boggs was ordered to a permnanent station in Geo....” Letter is fine, the cover with stamp and 1st National clipped.
