Broadside, LIEUT. OLIVER H. WALKER. DIED IN ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA., JAN. 3, 1864 ... 0F THE 24TH MASS. REGT., FROM WOUNDS RECEIVED IN BATTLE. HE WAS SON OF MR. ALFRED W. WALKER, FORMERLY OF PORTSMOUTH, AND GRANDSON OF WILLIAM WALKER, ESQ. FORMERLY OF THE CUSTOM HOUSE. HE HAD BEEN RECENTLY PROMOTED, HAVING SERVED TWO YEARS AS SERGEANT" , 4" x 6-1/2" lightly foxed. This broadside includes a poem composed by Miss C.S. of St. Augustine. … plus, Manuscript Mourning Card. The manuscript reads "In memory of Oliver Hilton Walker. Died at St. Augustine Florida Jan 3rd 1864, Aged 26 years 4 months & 9 days." Small stitch at top of manuscript, minor edge wear. Lightly tanned, 4-1/4" x 3", very good.
