A good war-date Union soldier's letter 2 1/2pp. 8vo., written by Pvt. Frank Ashley, Co. H, 64th Ohio, Nashville, Tenn., March 25, 1864, in part: "…we are to foot it…it will be some time before I can write…as our baggage goes on the cars. It will take 2 weeks to make the trip…we are going to Chattanooga so you may direct…(2) division and (3) Brigade (4) Army Corps…there was snow at Chattanooga eleven inches deep about the 20 of this month…".
