Army of Northern Virginia, 1862-1865; General-in-Chief, C.S. Army, 1865. Autograph Letter Signed, “R.E. Lee Bvt. Col.” as Superintendant at West Point, 1p. February 10, 1853, addressed to Reverend Wm. Sprole, and reads “Some of the residents on the Point have applied to me for permission for the Revd. Jno. Lebson to have divine service in the Chapel at 12m on two days in the week during lent. Before granting it I think it proper to enquire whether the Chaplain has any objection...” Fine. Framed.
