A great partly-printed war-date Union 1864 presidential campaign soldier's absentee voting ballot document, 1p. folio, Jones Landing, Va., Oct. 24, 1864 in which Private Dennis Ryan (1833-1889) Co. B, 3rd New York Cavalry gives a certain James Grace the "to cast for me…my vote or ballot…at the presidential election to be held on the 8th day of November, 1864." Signed and made official by Lt. Charles H. Hamilton. Near fine.
