Made out to the New England Mutual Life Insurance Company, this bond was redeemable for $10,000 "in gold coin" as of July 1, 1944. Unfortunately, neither the issuer nor the holder could foresee FDR's 1933 seizure of private gold. Folds and cancel perforations, else very fine condition.
