President U.S. Grant mourning ribbon that we have not seen before. The ribbon measures 8 ½" from the top of the rosette to the bottom of the white ribbon, and is dated August 8, 1885, two weeks after Grants death. This rare ribbon, from Cleveland, Ohio, was worn by "Veterans", as indicated below….Men who served during the Civil War. The ribbon is in excellent condition, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
