Rare sculpture of William McKinley by Chicago sculptor Hans Hirsch (1855-1924). The sculpture measures 15" tall and 14 1/2" at its widest point. Has its original patina, and is in excellent condition. Mounted to what looks to be the original wood mount. Hirsch's name and copyright date, "June 1896 Chicago" are on the piece, and was made during the hotly contested Presidential campaign between McKinley and Bryan. Hirsch's work has been displayed at institutions in Chicago and at "Expo Chicago". There is a similar example that Hirsch did of McKinley in 1898, which is housed at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center. A rare McKinley campaign piece.
