Manuscript Document, 1p. folio, Headquarters 2d Brigade, AP Hill’s Light Division, 2nd Army Corps, Camp Gregg, Virginia, February 9, 1863, addressed to Major R.C. Morgan, A.A. Genl., with fine content, though incomplete, reads in part: “...In compliance with the request of Major Gen. Hill to send in a report of all military operations in which this Brigade was engaged form the time when Genl Lee took command at Gordonsville to the time when we left the Valley. I hve the honor to submit the following general statement...Crossing the Rappahnnock. On saturday the 16th of August 1862 the Second Brigade (Greggs now under my command) A.P. Hill’s Light Division moved from its bivouck between Gordonsville and Orange C.H. to Crenshaw’s farm, near the Rapidan river, where it remained unti lteh 20th of Augustl; when crossing the river at Summersville ford, we advanced under the orders of Gen. Lee against...” Ends just when it was getting good, still a nice conversation piece in VG condition.
