Autograph Letter Signed, “John D. Miller” 2p. octavo, Camp Chase, Columbus, Ohio, August 27, 184, addressed to E.G. Booth, it reads in part: “...The cold season is fast approaching and I am nearly destitute of suitable clothing for such weather as we may soon expect, and I would like very much to have a suit of warm clothing, two woolen shirts, two pr .yarn socks, two pr. flannel drawers and a pair of heavy shoes, no. seven....Don’t send clothing of a fine quality. Nothing but an inferior article will be allowed to prisoners, and that to be gray or dark mixture....I am six feet high so you see it will take a large size....Address Prison No. 3, Camp C. Columbus...” Fine.
