Partly-printed Document Signed, “S. Meredith Surgeon in Charge 5 Division”, 1p. oblong folio, October 22, 1864, being a descriptive pay and clothing voucher for Lemuel Ward, Company F of the 27th North Carolina Infantry. The signature of Major Joseph Webb is present but light. Good condition. The 27th North Carolina served with both the Army of Northern Virginia as well as on the coasts of North and South Carolina. They were present at the 7 Days’ Battles, Sharpsburg, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, and Appomattox.
