Autograph Letter Signed, “Alex Hogan” 2nd Lt. 7th Tennessee Infantry, 1p. quarto, Prison Johnson Island Near Sandusky, Ohio, February 10, 1864, and reads in part: “...Since I wrote you about 300 Prisoners have been sent away I suppose to some other prison and it is rumored that more will be sent very soon...we are too crowded here...I thought I had seen cold weather in the mountains of Virginia but it was nothing to compare with the cold here...” VG.
