Autograph Letter Signed, by a Confederate civilian, 2p. octavo, with integral address leaf to a relative in Petersburg, with manuscript “Paid 10” denoting its issue through the Confederate postal service, the letter is dated June 23, 1864, from Bucksville, South Carolina, and reads in part: “...I want to hear what the Yankees are doing around your city....If you are troubled about the Yankees why don’t you tell me? Tell me where they are, if I have ever been there, how far from you & all about it...I saw that the citizens were not allowed to visit the lines, so I suppose he can’t see him....I do hope the Yankes will be defeated everywhere! I had a long letter by the blockade from unts Lissie & Phebe & Uncle Peter with a ‘price current’ but it was an old letter Jan. 14...” About VG.
