HOLMES Oliver Wendell (1841-1935) was an American jurist who served as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1902 to 1932, and as Acting Chief Justice of the United States January-February 1930. Served with the 20th Massachusetts during the Civil War, and was wounded in action three times. A card signed, Supreme Court Justice, with salutation, to John Ralph Ginzberg, dated September 12, 1930. Measures 2 1/2" x 3 3/8". Small mount remnant on version, else excellent.
