Autograph Letter Signed, “Thos. McAlfriend” 1p. octavo, Richmond, March 17, 1865, and reads in part: “...I wrote Mrs. S. a short letter a day or two since advising that I had not then able to send her trunks...I hand you at foot of this memo. of expenses. I hope Mrs. S. and Robby arrived safely and well at home, and found those she left behind her in Lynchburg well also...” Includes three ssmall newspaper clipings from a Mary Slaughter, pertainign to her wellfare. Interesting. All VG.
