A wonderful collection of six (6) American political silhouette lithograph prints published by E. B. & E. C. Kellogg, Hartford, CT, 1844, each measuring approximately 12 1/2" x 16 5/8" and from drawings by William H. Brown. This lot includes: WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON (1773-1841) governor of Indiana Territory, commander of U. S. forces at the battle of Tippecanoe and ninth president of the United States. LEVI WOODBURY (1789-1851) Governor of New Hampshire and associate justice of U. S. Supreme Court. SILAS WRIGHT (1795-1847) governor of New York who opposed the annexation of Texas. SAMUEL LEWIS SOUTHARD (1787-1842) Governor of New Jersey, Secretary of the Navy under John Q. Adams and became vice president pro temper after the death of President Harrison in 1841. FELIX GRUNDY (1775-1840) U. S. Congressman and Senator from Tennessee and attorney general of the U. S. under Martin Van Buren. Rendition of Letter by WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON to WILLIAM H. H. TAYLOR dated May 28, 1837. Some with negligible spotting or margin chipping otherwise overall VG to near fine.
