This 1880s card, imprinted by W. N. Otman of Montreal, is reproduced from an 1867 portrait taken in Canada after Davis was released from Fortress Monroe. The former Confederate president's clipped signature is pasted on to the lower margin of the mount. Overall age toning and an emulsion chip in the field. Very good condition.
