These early illustrations are fascinating, such as; January 14th, center spread “Flags of All Nations” and full page allegoric Lord’s Prayer; January 21st, center spread “Costumes of Nations of the World,” and full page of Franklin’s “The Art of Making Money;” February 25th, front page Washington’s Birthday; April 8th, front page Thomas Jefferson; June 3rd, 1/2 page portrait “Brigham Young, the Mormon President.” VG.
