Imprint, "Report of Lieutenant Colonel Fizer," 2pp., 8vo, from "Reports on the Operation of the Army of Northern Virginia," "Headquarters Seventeenth Mississippi Volunteers, July 5, 1862," addressed to "Colonel William Barksdale, Commanding Third Brigade," Fizer reports on a recent engagement at "Meadow Farm" during which he assumed command after Colonel Holder fell. Fizer proceeds to credit his subordinates with admirable deportment under fire. The recipient of this report, Barksdale, would become a Confederate brigadier and be mortally wounded while leading his Mississippi Brigade at Gettysburg. Good condition.
