Confederate soldier's war-date letter by Sergeant George W. Mosby, "Lauderdale Spring's Grays," Co. "C," 5th Mississippi Infantry, 2pp., small folio, Atlanta, Georgia, November 31, 1862, to an aunt, reading, in part: "…I have been so unwell ever since we returned from Kentucky that I could not write…I had a burning fever for now on five days…Expect to go to my Reg't without seeing anyone from home. I would give anything in the world for a furlough…I'm afraid it will be a long time before I shall entire recovered from that Kentucky march…I am now suffering on account of not having clothing…The wind blows very cold from the North…" Written on unusual lined pink stationery, very good condition.
