The album, 25 leaves, small 8vo, velvet embossed boards, contains (49) images, variously CDVs and tintypes, 1860s-1870s, many backmarks indicate an Ohio origin, the contents include Alexander Gardner's 1863 portrait of John Wilkes Booth, another CDV identified as "Aunt Jane & Uncle Jerry Booth" and a third CDV of an unknown man erroneously identified as "J Wilkes Booth." Other intriguing images in the collection are a silhouette of Abraham Lincoln and an excellent CDV showing the banjo duo "Palmer & Nevius." Worthy of research. Faded covers, internally very good condition.
