Manuscript document, "Special Order No 198" one page, 4to, on Mississippi Adjutant and Inspector General's Office letterhead, Meridian, Mississippi, July 22, 1863, by order of Governor Pettus, it reads: "Col. U Bounce Chief of Ordnance S.M. Will proceed to some suitable point in the State of Alabama and locate and erect (?) an Arsenal for the fabrication of Ammunition and to establish an Armory to complete the unfinished ordnance work of the State. He is empowered to rent or build such houses as are necessary to carry on the work of the State." Very good condition.
