Aviation Broadside, 14” x 21,”titled “Over 200 miles per hour,” Bridgeton Missouri, 1923, multi color, archival matt, Fine. this original poster was illustrated by Carl Walter and printed for the International Air Races held at Lambert Field in 1932. Includes a certification from the Missouri Historical Society that "The above described poster has been authenticated by photographic research at the Missouri Historical Society, Pictorial Library - Aviation Folder #21, Box #3, depicting the pylon just prior to the Air Races, October, 1923 as being an original poster printed for the International Air Races held at Lambert Field, Bridgeton, Missouri. Lambert Field was established at Bridgeton, Missouri in 1920. - Gail R. Guidry, Curator, Pictorial, Registrar of the Missouri Historical Society. In 1923 there was held on this field one of the greatest aeronautic events of the world. The total cost exceeded three hundred thousand dollars. On the day of the Pulitzer race we had an attendance of 140,000, parking over 24,000 automobiles. On the flying field we had ninety-two planes and the airstrip Shenandoah. One day during all this excitement, a tramp plane coming through the clouds, landed on the field. The pilot after pegging down his ship, introduced himself to several men sitting on a bench: "My name is Lindbergh."
