Decorative Advertising Card, Promoting the Clipper Ship "RATTLER" of the "Glidden & Williams' Line," VG. This is a California Gold Rush Period Decorative Clipper Ship Advertising Card, measuring 5-1/2" x 3-12/", printed in multi-colors upon a coated heavy card stock. This vibrant Advertising Card shows Civil War soldiers next to a huge parrot gun, an American flag flies in the background and a Black man stacking the cannon balls. This card announces the Ship is, "To Sail on or Before Jan. 12, 1864." The card has been slightly trimmed at both top and bottom margins having a closed 1" tear which has been sealed on blank reverse side with an archival tape.
