Partially printed document, a passport issued to M. B. Hannum and his family, signed by Massachusetts politician Edward Everett as Secretary of State, one page, folio, Washington, D.C., January 18, 1853. Docketing on a back panel indicate the group went to Paris. Hannum, born in 1830, would die in 1860 and is buried in Concordville, Pennsylvania. Accompanying the passport is a 1980 letter between Hannum's descendants regarding this document.
